Index freedom in the world
The Index of Freedom in the World is an index of civil liberties published in late 2012 by Canada's Fraser Institute, Germany's Liberales Institut, and the U.S. Cato Institute. The index is the predecessor of the Human Freedom Index, which has been published annually since 2015. 2017 World Freedom Index. We set out to answer the question: “Which are the freest counties in the world?” While freedom certainly can be subjective, the Index attempts to represent the freedom of a country by looking at economic freedom, political freedom, and freedom of the press. Reporters Without Borders (RSF) presents the 2019 World Press Freedom Index. Freedom House’s index is a useful tool for activists and scholars, but the major themes of this year’s report shows that the organization’s three neat categories leave something out.
